Tea + Foot Soak + Light + Touch

A duo suite designed around tea, herbs, and rest.

The Root Room at The Bronze Lily is a private duo treatment suite in St. Petersburg, Florida — built for couples, close friends, or one person who has earned a quiet hour. The session begins with a tea + herbal foot-soak pairing selected from a menu created by herbologist Michael Fliight — with full-body red light therapy and a finishing foot-care ritual using PODOPHARM, a Polish professional pedicure brand.

The suite is built around sensory rest: a salt wall, an apothecary wall of dried herbs, a greenery wall, curated sound, and deep, comfortable chairs. Sessions are bookable solo from $95 or as a duo from $180, with combined pricing when paired with a head spa.

Why this room exists

From Lula's healing — a philosophy of balance.

The Root Room started with Lula. She is one of Larae's two French Bulldogs — the other is Lily, the namesake-adjacent one — and she was diagnosed with stage 5 IVDD this past December 2025, the most severe spinal disc classification. Stage 5 dogs typically don't walk again. Larae chose the holistic path: electromagnetic acupuncture, a PEMF bed (Lula's, in the studio), water therapy, cold laser, Chinese herbs. Lula is recovering. Sensation has returned. Mobility is slowly coming back.

A wellness treatment plan for her dog became the seed, the philosophy for a wellness room for two-legged guests. The Root Room you book is built around the same conviction that the body wants to heal if you give it the right environment, the right inputs, and a quiet place to do the work — that a quiet, sensory-supportive space and the right plant medicine can do what a louder approach can't.

What it feels like

A different door, a different pace, a different floor.

You enter through the same 1920s home that holds the rest of the studio, then climb the stairs to the second floor — the Root Room sits at a different door, on a different floor, at a different speed. The light is low. The sound is intentional — chosen frequencies of healing sound, not background music. The wall in front of you is a single sensory feature: a warm salt panel framed by greenery, with a wooden shelf above holding apothecary jars of every herb on the menu. Two deep, fluffy chairs face the foot-soak basins. Beside you, full-body red light panels on the wall.

You'll receive your menu of foot-soak and tea pairings — designed by herbologist Michael Fliight — downstairs in the lobby while you wait. Preview the menu before your visit → Once you've chosen, your selections head upstairs so the staff can measure your herbs fresh, pack the sachets, and begin steeping right away — the herbs need that time to bloom into the soak and the cup. When you climb the stairs, everything is already in motion: red light glowing, soak warm, tea brewing. You and your person (or you and the rare quiet of being alone) soak, drink your tea, and let the room do its work. When you're ready, your therapist returns to finish the ritual at your feet.

Three phases of the botanical experience

The Root Room ritual, step by step.

One

Choose.

You and your therapist pick a tea-and-foot-soak pairing from herbologist Michael Fliight's menu. Each pairing is a specific herbal soak with a tea built to match.

Two

Soak.

Roughly 25–30 minutes

Your therapist brews your tea, fills the basin, dims the light, and leaves the room to you. The red light runs beside you. The salt, the herbs, the greenery, the chosen sound — all of it is doing quiet work. You drink your tea. You soak. Nothing is asked of you. You don't have to talk, perform, or "use" the room — just be in it.

Three

Finish.

Full session up to 60 min

Your therapist returns with PODOPHARM — a professional Polish foot-care brand with a serious clinical reputation — and finishes at your feet: a foot scrub, a calf-and-foot massage, a foot mask, and a finishing foot cream.

Rooted in Healing

Step into the sanctuary. Stay for the healing.

Built for two. Most "wellness lounges" book single-person sessions. The Root Room is a duo suite by design — a couple, two friends, or one person spreading out.

Designed by an herbologist. Michael Fliight built the tea + foot-soak menu. The pairings aren't decorative — they're a deliberate match of plant to plant.

Fresh-packed sachets, every visit. The herbs live loose in the apothecary jars on the wall. After you choose your ritual downstairs, your soak and tea sachets are measured, packed, and started steeping in real time upstairs — not pulled from a pre-bagged box. Every sachet is built for the guest in front of us.

Sensory environment as treatment. The salt, the apothecary jars, the greenery, the chosen frequencies of healing sound, the red light — these aren't aesthetic, they're the room doing work.

PODOPHARM, not drugstore foot care. The finishing ritual uses a Polish professional foot-care brand recommended by podiatrists, not a generic spa scrub.

Pairs with the head spa. Root Room before or after a head spa for the full nervous-system reset. Combo pricing on both sides.

The space

What's in the suite.

Feature wall.

The wall you face is one continuous sensory feature: a warm, mineral salt panel framed by greenery, with a wooden shelf above holding apothecary jars of every herb on the menu — built and finished by Larae herself.

Curated sound.

Frequency-based playlists, anchored on 432 Hz. Built for whole-body recovery and regeneration, healing, and stress relief — not background spa music.

Two fluffy chairs.

Built for soaking, not perching.

Foot-soak basins.

One per chair, ready for your selected herbal soak.

Full-body red light panels.

Platinum Therapy BIOMAX, FDA Class II, seven wavelengths, mounted on the wall to your left and running for the full session.

Duo + combo pricing

Bring someone, or come alone —
the room is built for two.

The Root Room is the only duo treatment suite of its kind in St. Petersburg. Two basins. Two chairs. One ritual you share without performing it for each other. It's the room for the friend you only see twice a year, the partner who never books anything for themselves, the bridal party that wants something quieter than a brunch.

Pair it with the head spa for the full sequence: head spa first, Root Room second. When bundled, the Root Room is $75 solo / $170 duo — that's $20 off solo, $10 off duo — added to whichever head spa treatment you pick. A real discount, not a marketing one.

PODOPHARM · the finishing ritual at your feet

The finish

PODOPHARM — why we use it.

The finishing ritual at your feet uses PODOPHARM, a Polish professional foot-care brand founded in 2014. It's the brand Polish podiatrists recommend — not a generic spa product line. The formulas are built around urea (for moisture and softening), magnesium-potassium therapeutic salts, and dermosoft®decalact, a patented antifungal active. Everything is free of triclosan and the aggressive surfactants common in drugstore foot care. The line is safe for diabetic clients and gentle enough for guests as young as six.

Using PODOPHARM at the close of the ritual is a small decision that says everything about how the Root Room treats your feet: as the part of you that carries everything else, and worth a brand chosen for clinical seriousness — not for the label.

The add-on

Add foot reflexology — Thursdays + Fridays only.

What it is. Foot reflexology is a focused pressure-point therapy on the soles of the feet. Reflexologists work mapped zones that correspond to organs, nerves, and tension patterns elsewhere in the body — sinuses at the toes, gut and lower back through the arch, neck and shoulders along the heel. It's not a foot massage; it's a 30-minute clinical session.

When it's available. Thursdays and Fridays only, with Dominique — our certified reflexologist. $70 per person, flat rate, regardless of which Root Room tier you book.

Why add it on. The Root Room ritual already softens, soaks, and treats your feet — reflexology takes the hour of relaxation, extends it, and turns it into a full-body recalibration. Most-added by clients carrying digestive issues, sinus congestion, jaw tension, sleep trouble, or chronic neck/shoulder load. If you're booking the Duo, both guests can add it; however, sessions run back to back, since Dominique is our only foot reflexology provider.

Pregnancy + medical

A few honest notes before you book.

Pregnancy. Most of what happens in the Root Room — the foot soak, the sensory environment, the PODOPHARM ritual — is gentle. A few specific herbs on Michael Fliight's menu are not appropriate during pregnancy; we'll guide you to a safe pairing at booking. Red light therapy is generally considered safe in pregnancy with eye protection, but please check with your OB/GYN before booking.

Photosensitive medications. Some prescriptions increase light sensitivity. If you're on one, tell us at intake — we'll adjust or substitute.

Diabetes and serious foot conditions. PODOPHARM is widely used in diabetic foot care and is safe for most. If you have an active wound, ulcer, or recent surgery on your feet, please clear the booking with your medical provider first.

The Root Room is a wellness lounge, not a medical facility. We'll ask about contraindications at intake — please be honest with us.

My partner and I left the Root Room more present with each other than we'd been in months. The tea, the soak, the quiet — and then someone takes care of your feet. I cannot explain it; you just have to book it.

Foot Spa · Common Questions

Root Room FAQ.

What's the best foot spa in St. Petersburg or Tampa Bay?

The Root Room is the first of its kind in Tampa Bay — the only plant-medicine and biohacking foot sanctuary in the area. Each ritual pairs an herbal foot soak with a ceremonial tea, red light therapy, and a PODOPHARM treatment in a private duo suite. $180 for two, or $170 bundled with a head spa. We built this category in St. Pete — there's nothing else like it.

What is the Root Room?

A private duo treatment suite on the second floor of The Bronze Lily in St. Petersburg, Florida — a tea + herbal foot-soak ritual designed by herbologist Michael Fliight, full-body red light panels, and a finishing PODOPHARM foot-care treatment from your therapist.

How much does it cost?

Solo $95, Duo $180. When bundled with a head spa: $75 (solo) or $170 (duo) for the Root Room hour, added to the price of whichever head spa treatment you select. Foot reflexology add-on $70 per person, with Dominique on Thursdays and Fridays.

How long is a session?

Up to 60 minutes for the solo and duo full experience. The foot soak portion runs about 25 to 30 minutes; the full ritual — choose, soak, finish — runs up to 60.

Can I book it as a couple?

Yes — the duo experience is the centerpiece of the room. Two chairs, two basins, one shared ritual. The room was built for this.

Is there an infrared sauna, PEMF bed, or cold plunge in the Root Room?

No. The Root Room is a tea + foot-soak + red light + PODOPHARM ritual. (Lula, Larae's French Bulldog, has a PEMF bed at the studio for her stage 5 IVDD recovery — but it's hers.)

Who designed the tea + soak menu?

Herbologist Michael Fliight. Each pairing is a deliberate match of foot-soak herbs and a tea built to drink alongside it — not a decorative menu.

What is PODOPHARM?

A Polish professional foot-care brand founded in 2014, recommended by podiatrists, built around urea, therapeutic salts, and dermosoft®decalact. Free of triclosan and aggressive ingredients. Safe for diabetic clients and gentle enough for guests as young as six.

Is the Root Room safe if I have diabetes or neuropathy?

Please check with your doctor or podiatrist first, and contact us directly to book — by text or call at (727) 218-7045 — so we know ahead of time and can prepare for you. This is one service where we ask anyone with diabetes or peripheral neuropathy to get clearance before their visit. Here's why we're careful: reduced sensation can make it hard to feel water temperature, and slower circulation and healing mean even a small burn, crack, or scrape carries more risk — which is why major diabetes organizations urge caution with foot soaks. With your provider's go-ahead, we take extra care: gently warm water rather than hot, a shorter soak, and check-ins throughout. And if a full soak isn't right for you, we'll tailor your visit around the parts of the ritual that are. Your safety comes before the experience, always.

Is the Root Room safe during pregnancy?

Most of it is, but specific herbs on the menu are not appropriate during pregnancy — we'll guide you to a safe pairing at booking. Red light therapy is generally considered safe in pregnancy with eye protection. Check with your OB/GYN before booking.

Can I add it to a head spa?

Yes — combo pricing is $75 solo or $170 duo when booked the same visit as a head spa. The most-booked sequence: head spa first, Root Room second.

Why is it called the Root Room?

The room began as a recovery space for Larae's French Bulldog Lula, who has stage 5 IVDD. "Root" reflects the foundational, returning-to-source nature of the work that happens in it — and the philosophy of balance Lula's healing taught the room to hold.

What is your cancellation policy?

24 hours' notice, please. As Larae says — our artists make it our career to service you, it is not our hobby. The same applies to the Root Room: we hold the room for you.

  • Less than 24 hrs before: 50% of session cost
  • Less than 4 hrs before or no call/no show: 100% of session cost

All bookings require a card on file. Once you're inside the 24-hour window, the system won't allow self-cancellation — please call or text (727) 218-7045. Full Bronze Lily policy on /faq.

What is foot reflexology and when can I add it?

Foot reflexology is a focused 30-minute pressure-point therapy on the soles of the feet. The reflexologist works mapped zones that correspond to organs, nerves, and tension patterns elsewhere in the body — sinuses at the toes, gut and lower back through the arch, neck and shoulders along the heel. It's not a foot massage; it's a clinical session.

At The Bronze Lily, reflexology is a $70 per-person add-on to any Root Room tier, available with our certified reflexologist Dominique on Thursdays and Fridays only. Most-added by clients carrying digestive issues, sinus congestion, jaw tension, sleep trouble, or chronic neck and shoulder load. If you're booking the Duo, both guests can add it; however, sessions run back to back, since Dominique is our only foot reflexology provider.

Do you offer refunds?

Because our services are performed on you, they can't be returned once complete — so all services are non-refundable. Prepaid packages and session credits are likewise non-refundable and non-transferable, and are valid for one year from purchase. If anything about your visit isn't right, tell us before you leave and we'll make it right.
