The dance-night glow, done right.

One night. A hundred photos. Zero orange.

Prom and homecoming tans are their own craft: young skin, a fitted dress or sharp suit, flash photography, and a parent who — reasonably — wants to know exactly what’s being sprayed. Ours is skincare-grade, hand-applied, 100% UV-free, and color-matched so the photos read glow, not orange. Teens are welcome with a parent or guardian’s consent.

The short answer

Prom spray tans start at $45.

A Signature spray tan is $45 (develops in 8–12 hours — book it the day before the dance). Rapid formulas are $57–$63 and develop in 1–4 hours for tighter timelines. A legs-only tan for the dress is $20. Every tan is hand-applied and color-matched at our St. Petersburg studio — and we’re a 100% sunless, UV-free studio with no tanning beds, which is exactly the sentence most parents are hoping to read.

Minors are welcome with a parent or guardian’s consent, and we offer a free patch test 24–48 hours before a first appointment. Getting ready with friends? Group appointments and mobile visits ($100/person) both work.

For the parent doing the vetting

What’s actually in it — and what isn’t.

Our solution is hand-mixed, organic, vegan, and chemical-free in the ways that matter to you: skincare-grade ingredients with hydration built into the formula itself — multi-weight hyaluronic acid, aloe, coconut water, squalane — rather than sold back to you as add-ons. The full 33-ingredient ledger is published on our spray tan page, because you shouldn’t have to wonder.

Just as important is what we don’t have: no UV tanning beds, anywhere in the studio. We’re 100% sunless. If your teen has been asking about a base tan from a strip-mall tanning salon before the dance, this is the safer answer to hand them.

The appointment itself is respectful by design — a private suite, a female artist, solution-blocking hair nets and disposables provided, and barrier cream applied at the elbows, knees, and heels so the color lands even. Odor-neutralizing ingredients are formulated in, so there’s little to none of the classic spray-tan smell at the dance.

The dance-week timeline

When to book it.

  • First time? Patch test first. Free, 24–48 hours before the tan — do it early in dance week.
  • Signature ($45): book for the day before the dance. It develops over 8–12 hours, so Friday-afternoon spray for a Saturday dance means she wakes up ready.
  • Rapid formulas ($57–$63): develop in 1–4 hours — the same-day safety valve when the week got away from everyone.
  • Shower, makeup, dress — in that order. We’ll send exact rinse timing home with every appointment.
  • Lasts 7–10 days — so grad photos early the next week still catch the glow.

Homecoming works exactly the same way — the season just starts in September instead of April. Book before the mums and garters discourse takes over the group chat.

The getting-ready plan

Friend groups welcome.

Prom prep is a team sport. We take back-to-back group bookings at the studio — or we bring the mobile setup to your house at $100/person, which turns tan day into part of the event (parents’ living room, music on, everyone in hair nets). Add a whitening touch-up ($70) or a brow clean-up while you’re here, and it’s the whole look sorted in one afternoon.

Prom + Homecoming · Common Questions

Dance-night FAQ.

Can a minor get a spray tan at The Bronze Lily?

Yes — teens are welcome with a parent or guardian’s consent. Parents, text us at (727) 218-7045 to book for your teen and ask anything you like first; we’d rather answer twelve questions than have you wonder about one.

How much does a prom spray tan cost in St. Petersburg?

Signature is $45, rapid formulas are $57–$63, and a legs-only tan is $20. Mobile group visits are $100/person. No hidden add-ons — hydration, pH prep, and odor neutralization are built into the solution.

Is a spray tan safer than a tanning bed before prom?

A spray tan is sunless color on the surface of the skin; a tanning bed is UV exposure. We’re a 100% sunless, UV-free studio — we don’t have tanning beds, on purpose. If the choice is sunless color versus a UV bed before dance photos, sunless is the one we’ll always stand behind.

When should we book relative to the dance?

Signature: the day before (develops 8–12 hours). Rapid: even same-day works (develops 1–4 hours). First-timers should add a free patch test 24–48 hours before the tan. Book the slot as soon as you have the date — dance weekends fill fast.

Will it stain the dress or the suit?

By dance night, no — the tan is rinsed, developed, and dry long before the corsage goes on if the timing above is followed. That’s the point of spraying the day before. We send every client home with exact rinse timing so there’s no guesswork.
