Cheap Spray Tan in St. Pete (Booth vs. $45 Airbrush) — The Bronze Lily, St. Petersburg, FL

Cheap Spray Tan · St. Petersburg, FL

Cheap spray tan in St. Pete? Here’s the honest math.

A booth is about $35 to $40. An artist is $45. That is the whole gap.

A spray tan booth in St. Pete runs roughly $35–$40 a session. Our Signature spray tan is $45 — hand-airbrushed by an artist Larae trained personally, colour mixed to your skin, hands and feet done by eye, a skincare-grade organic solution. Buy two and it is $38 a tan. Booth money, without the booth.

The short answer

Is $45 really only a few dollars more than a booth?

Yes. Most booth sessions in St. Petersburg land between $35 and $40; the Signature tan is $45, so the difference is five to ten dollars — a coffee and a tip. For that you trade a machine spraying a fixed pattern at every body for a person who looks at yours: custom-mixed colour for your undertone, hands, feet, knees and elbows deliberately lighter, a face sprayed, skipped or faded at the neck the way you ask, and clean white towels underfoot instead of the last client’s overspray. Buy the Signature 2-pack ($76) and each tan is $38 — less than most booths.

The honest math

Are the extra few dollars worth it?

What the $35–$40 buys. A machine with a fixed nozzle pattern, one or two depth settings, and a timer. It cannot see you, so it sprays the same dose on your face, your hands and your shins. The colour in the tank is whatever the salon chose, sitting in a shared reservoir, and whatever misses you lands on the floor you are standing on.

What the $45 buys. An artist in a private suite who mixes the solution to your skin tone, airbrushes by hand, goes lighter where skin is thinner and darker where it tans naturally, fades your neck if you skip your face, and lays clean white towels down for every spray. Odor neutralization is built into the solution, and the formula is organic, vegan and UV-free — free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, formaldehyde, mineral oil and gluten.

Why booths are cheap — from someone who worked in one. Larae worked in a tanning salon before opening this one, so this is first-hand: a professional, skincare-grade solution runs around $70 a quart and a booth burns through it, on top of a machine the salon is still paying off. The solution is the one cost the salon controls, so it is the line that gets cut.

If you tan often, the gap disappears. The Signature 2-pack is $76 — $38 a tan, valid a year, one person, two visits. The Signature membership is $140 a month for one hand-airbrushed tan every week, which works out to $35 a tan if you use every week. Sessions are the only discount we run; there are no coupons to hunt for.

Being honest about it

What to know before you book.

A booth is not always a bad tan. On an even skin tone with no tan lines and no face-skip, a booth can come out fine. It is a gamble you pay $35–$40 for; the $45 is the same money with the gamble taken out.

The Signature develops over 8–12 hours, rinses the next morning and lasts 7–10 days with aftercare. Need colour in a hurry? The Standard Rapid ($57) and the Sweat-Resistant Rapid ($63) rinse in 1–4 hours and the Sweat-Resistant holds 10–14 days — still within a few dollars of a booth’s premium tiers.

First time, or sensitive skin? A patch test is complimentary on request, 24–48 hours before your first appointment. Exfoliate the day before, arrive with clean skin and no lotion, and bring loose dark clothes. Seven days a week, 7 AM to 11 PM, by appointment — same-day usually works.

Cancellations. Twenty-four hours’ notice is required. Cancellations under 24 hours are 50% of service cost; no-shows, arrivals 15+ minutes late, or cancellations under 4 hours are 100%. All bookings require a card on file — no deposits. Phone call or text to (727) 218-7045 are the only valid ways to cancel or reschedule. All sales are final.

Cheap Spray Tan · Common Questions

Spray tan prices FAQ.

How much is a spray tan in St. Petersburg?

At The Bronze Lily a hand-airbrushed Signature spray tan is $45; the Standard Rapid is $57 and the Sweat-Resistant Rapid is $63. A Signature 2-pack is $76 ($38 a tan). Mobile spray tans at your home or hotel are $100 per person. Spray tan booths in the St. Petersburg area typically run about $35–$40 a session.

Is a $45 airbrush tan really only a few dollars more than a booth?

Yes. Most booth sessions in St. Pete land between $35 and $40, so the Signature tan at $45 is five to ten dollars more. For that you get an artist instead of a machine: colour custom-mixed to your skin, hands and feet done lighter by eye, your face sprayed or skipped the way you ask, and a skincare-grade solution. The 2-pack brings it to $38 a tan.

What is the cheapest spray tan at The Bronze Lily?

The Signature spray tan at $45, or $38 a tan with the Signature 2-pack ($76, valid one year, one person, two visits). If you tan weekly, the Signature membership is $140 a month for one tan every week — about $35 a tan. Sessions are the only discount we offer; we do not run coupons.

Why are booth spray tans cheaper?

Because the machine, not the solution, is what the salon invested in. Larae worked in a tanning salon before opening The Bronze Lily: a skincare-grade solution runs around $70 a quart and a booth burns through it spraying a fixed pattern at every client, so the solution is the cost that gets cut. What ends up in most booths is chosen on price and shared across clients. See airbrush vs. booth.

Will a cheap booth tan look orange or streaky?

It can. A booth sprays the same dose on your face, hands, shins and torso, cannot adjust for your undertone, and depends on you holding the right pose at the right second. Hand-airbrushing fixes each of those by looking at you. If you already have a booth tan that went wrong, we can usually correct it — see fixing a bad spray tan.

How long does the $45 Signature tan last?

Seven to ten days with proper aftercare. It develops over 8–12 hours and is rinsed the next morning. The Sweat-Resistant Rapid ($63) lasts 10–14 days and rinses in 1–4 hours.

Do you have spray tan deals, coupons or packages?

Sessions are the only discount we run: a Signature 2-pack for $76, Standard Rapid 2-pack for $90, Sweat-Resistant Rapid 2-pack for $102 — each valid one year, for one person. Weekly tanners can join the Signature ($140/month) or Rapid ($185/month) membership for one tan per week. No coupons.

Can I try a hand-airbrushed tan once before buying a package?

Of course — book a single Signature tan for $45 and decide after. If you have sensitive skin or a long ingredient list, call or text (727) 218-7045 first; a patch test is complimentary on request 24–48 hours before a first appointment. Book online, seven days a week, 7 AM to 11 PM.
