The short answer
Colour, bleach and the head spa, 
Colour fades from heat, from sulfates, from hard scrubbing and from water that is too hot. The head spa ritual is built the other way: a micro-exfoliant mask on the scalp (not the lengths), a sulfate-free targeted shampoo, a treatment mask, a deep conditioner through the lengths, and scalp serums — with warm, not hot, water through the halo. Fresh colour: tell us when it was done when you book and we schedule the head spa so the colour has settled first; your colourist’s advice on waiting wins. Bleach damage: the ritual cannot repair a broken cuticle (nothing can), but the deep conditioning and the scalp work are the kindest hour your hair will get between appointments. Toners, glosses, fashion colours: mention them; the therapist adjusts product and water temperature.

How we protect the colour
Colour-safe, 
Tell us at booking. “Coloured last week,” “bleached and toned,” “vivid fashion colour” — one line is enough. Fresh colour is scheduled after it has settled; your colourist’s waiting advice always wins over ours.
The scalp reading decides the products. The Tricho-Analyzer looks at the scalp at 50× before anything goes on. Dry, irritated or product-loaded scalps (common after bleach) get the matching formulas; nothing is chosen because it is what we used on the last client.
Scalp work stays on the scalp. The micro-exfoliant mask is for the scalp, not the lengths. The shampoo is sulfate-free. The water through the halo is warm. None of the steps are designed to pull pigment.
The lengths get the conditioner. The deep conditioning treatment is worked through the hair and left to sit while your hands and arms are massaged. Bleached hair drinks this. The finish is a rough dry to 60–80% or a braid — no hot tools unless you add the Botanical Blowout.

We cannot repair bleach damage. A broken cuticle does not mend; the deep conditioner makes the hair feel and behave better, and the scalp work helps the new growth come in on a healthy scalp. Anyone promising repair is selling a feeling.
We will not head-spa over colour that is hours old. If the dye was today, come back when it has settled. We would rather lose the appointment than your colour.
Vivid and fashion colours fade faster everywhere. Warm water alone moves some pigment on pinks and blues. Tell us and the therapist keeps the water cooler and the lengths out of the rinse as much as the ritual allows.
Tape-in extensions are not compatible with the ritual (the oils compromise the tape); sew-ins, K-tips, micro-links and fusion are fine. See head spa with extensions.
We are not making medical claims. A head spa is scalp care, not treatment, and your therapist is not diagnosing anything. If a scalp problem is new, painful, spreading or not improving, see a dermatologist first — and tell us at intake either way, so we work gently around it.
Cancellations. Twenty-four hours’ notice is required. Cancellations under 24 hours are 50% of service cost; no-shows, arrivals 15+ minutes late, or cancellations under 4 hours are 100%. Is a head spa safe for color-treated hair?
Yes. Every product in the Japanese head spa at The Bronze Lily is sulfate-, paraben- and silicone-free European biodynamic hair care, chosen from your Tricho-Analyzer scalp reading. The exfoliant mask stays on the scalp, the shampoo is sulfate-free and the halo water is warm, not hot. Tell us when your colour was done so we schedule it after the colour has settled.
Will a head spa strip or fade my hair color?
It is designed not to: no sulfates, no hot water, no scrubbing of the lengths. Very fresh colour should settle first (your colourist’s waiting advice wins), and vivid fashion colours fade faster in any water, so mention them and the therapist keeps the water cooler.
Can a head spa help bleach-damaged hair?
It cannot repair a broken cuticle — nothing can — but the deep conditioning treatment worked through the lengths in every full ritual is exactly what bleached hair wants, and the scalp work supports healthy new growth. Expect hair that feels and behaves better, not a reversal.
How soon after coloring can I get a head spa?
Tell us the date when you book and we time it after the colour has settled; follow your colourist’s waiting guidance over ours. We will not head-spa over colour that was done the same day.
Which head spa should I book after bleaching?
If the scalp is dry, tight or flaking after bleach, the Nourishing Dry Scalp ($145); if it stings or is reactive, the Soothing Sensitive Scalp ($145). Otherwise the Relax & Detox ($120). The Tricho-Analyzer reading on arrival confirms the choice.
What products do you use?
European, biodynamic, vegan hair care free from sulfates, parabens, silicones and harsh chemicals. Which formulas are used is set by your scalp reading, not a fixed script.
Will my hair be styled after?
Rough-dried to 60–80% or finished in a simple braid — no hot tools by default. Add the Botanical Blowout ($70, with Adriana, not Thursdays) if you want it styled.
Can I get a head spa with hair extensions?
Sew-in, K-tip, micro-link and fusion extensions are fine; tape-ins are not. Braids and locs are not bookable. Book Relax & Detox online or text (727) 218-7045.
