Head Spa for a Dry, Itchy Scalp — The Bronze Lily, St. Petersburg, FL

Dry & Itchy Scalp · St. Petersburg, FL

A head spa for
the dry, itchy scalp.

Tight after a shower. Flaky by afternoon. Itchy at the worst possible moment.

The Nourishing Dry Scalp head spa is 75 minutes built around one problem: a scalp that has lost its moisture. A Tricho-Analyzer reading before and after, moisture-restoring products chosen for what the camera shows, water halo therapy and a long, slow scalp massage — in a private suite. $145 · 75 minutes, seven days a week, 7 AM to 11 PM.

The short answer

Dry scalp, in plain terms.

A dry scalp is a scalp that is not holding moisture: it feels tight, it flakes in fine, dry pieces, and it itches — often worse in air-conditioning, after hot showers, or with heavy styling products. The Nourishing Dry Scalp ritual at The Bronze Lily is the 75-minute, $145 Japanese head spa built for it: a magnified Tricho-Analyzer look at your scalp first, then gentle stimulation with moisture-restoring products that help the scalp rebalance its own oil, the water halo rinse, and the hands-on scalp, neck and shoulder work every full ritual includes. A second reading at the end shows you the difference.

Not sure whether your flakes are dry or oily? That is exactly what the scalp camera is for — book either, and your therapist will adjust the products to what she sees. If your scalp is oily and flaking, start with the oily scalp and dandruff page. See the full head spa menu.

What the hour is like

What the 75 minutes actually includes.

The reading first. A Tricho-Analyzer is a magnifying scalp camera. Before anything touches your head, your therapist looks at the scalp up close — dryness, flaking, buildup, how the follicles look — and chooses the products for that, not for a generic “dry” label.

The five-step sequence, tuned for moisture. A gentle micro-exfoliant to lift dry flakes without stripping, a cleanse chosen for a dehydrated scalp, water halo therapy — a warm ring of water poured over the scalp — a moisture-restoring mask, and a deep conditioning of the hair lengths to finish. The same backbone as every full ritual here, with every product swapped for the dry-scalp version. Plus a little extra time for the care needed.

The massage is most of the hour. Scalp, cranial pressure points, neck and shoulders, and hands and arms while the mask works. It is why people fall asleep, and it is also the point: stimulation and circulation are part of how a scalp finds its balance again.

The reading again. You see the before and the after on the screen. Then a rough dry to 60–80% dry, and you leave with your scalp feeling like it can breathe.

Being honest about it

Whether it is right for you.

Dry versus oily matters. Flakes do not always mean a dry scalp. Oily, waxy flakes with an itchy, greasy root are a different problem with a different ritual — the Rebalancing Oily Scalp. If you are not sure, book either one; the camera settles it and your therapist adjusts.

Sensitive or reactive scalp? If your scalp stings, reddens or is being treated for a skin condition, the Soothing Sensitive Scalp ritual (also 75 minutes, $145) uses an ultra-gentle approach instead. Tell us at booking.

One visit helps. A rhythm helps more. One session leaves the scalp calmer and cleaner; a dry scalp that has been dry for years tends to do best on a schedule, and we will tell you honestly what we see rather than sell you a package — we do not sell packages.

We are not making medical claims. A head spa is scalp care, not treatment, and your therapist is not diagnosing anything. If a scalp problem is new, painful, spreading or not improving, see a dermatologist first — and tell us at intake either way, so we work gently around it.

Cancellations. Twenty-four hours’ notice is required. Cancellations under 24 hours are 50% of service cost; no-shows, arrivals 15+ minutes late, or cancellations under 4 hours are 100%. All bookings require a card on file — no deposits. Phone call or text to (727) 218-7045 are the only valid ways to cancel or reschedule. All sales are final.

Dry & Itchy Scalp · Common Questions

Dry scalp FAQ.

Do you have a head spa for a dry, itchy scalp in St. Petersburg?

Yes. The Nourishing Dry Scalp ritual at The Bronze Lily, 2851 1st Avenue N in Historic Kenwood, is a 75-minute Japanese head spa ($145) built for a tight, flaky, itchy scalp — Tricho-Analyzer reading before and after, moisture-restoring products, water halo therapy and a long scalp massage, in a private suite. Open seven days, 7 AM to 11 PM, by appointment.

How much is the dry scalp head spa?

$145 for 75 minutes. It includes the scalp reading before and after, all products, the water halo rinse, the scalp, neck, shoulder, hand and arm massage, and a rough dry. No packages — single sessions only, and a card on file holds the appointment with no deposit.

How do I know if my scalp is dry or oily?

Dry flakes are small, white and powdery, and the scalp feels tight. Oily flakes are larger, yellowish or waxy, and the roots feel greasy within a day of washing. The Tricho-Analyzer settles it in the first five minutes, and your therapist chooses products for what she actually sees — so if you book the wrong one, nothing is lost.

Will one head spa fix a dry scalp?

One session leaves the scalp cleaner, calmer and better hydrated, and you will see the difference on the screen. A scalp that has been dry for a long time usually does best on a rhythm. We will tell you what we see honestly; we do not sell packages or make medical claims.

Is it okay if I have dandruff too?

Yes — flaking is exactly what the ritual addresses. If the camera shows the flaking is coming from an oily scalp rather than a dry one, your therapist will switch to the Rebalancing Oily Scalp products, same price, same hour. If the scalp is red, sore or being treated by a doctor, tell us at booking so we can go gently.

What should I do before I come in?

Nothing special. Arrive with your hair as it is — washed or not — and skip heavy styling product that day if you can. You leave rough-dried to about 60–80%, so plan for air-dry hair afterwards or add a Botanical Blowout with Adriana.

Can I add anything to it?

Yes. A 6-step facial in the same suite ($70), the Custom Herbal Scalp Tea Rinse from the Root Room ($25, complimentary on the Tuesday Reset), a Botanical Blowout ($70) or a professional braid ($10). Ask when you book.
