Head Spa for Dandruff & an Oily Scalp — The Bronze Lily, St. Petersburg, FL

Oily Scalp & Dandruff · St. Petersburg, FL

Oily scalp and dandruff, brought back into balance.

Greasy by the second day. Flakes that are not dry. Roots that never feel clean.

The Rebalancing Oily Scalp head spa is 75 minutes for a scalp that over-produces oil: a Tricho-Analyzer reading first, a purifying massage that works buildup out of the follicles, products that help regulate sebum while strengthening the root, water halo therapy and the full hands-on ritual — in a private suite. $145 · 75 minutes, seven days a week, 7 AM to 11 PM.

The short answer

Oily scalp, in plain terms.

An oily scalp is one that produces more sebum than it needs. Hair goes flat and greasy a day after washing, product and sweat build up at the roots, and the flakes it throws are larger, waxy and often yellowish — what most people call dandruff. The Rebalancing Oily Scalp ritual at The Bronze Lily is the 75-minute, $145 Japanese head spa for that scalp: a magnified reading first, a purifying massage that unclogs follicles, products chosen to help regulate oil production while strengthening the roots, the water halo rinse, and the scalp, neck and shoulder work every full ritual includes. A second reading at the end shows you what changed.

Flaking with a tight, dry scalp is a different problem — that one is the Nourishing Dry Scalp. Not sure? Book either; the camera decides and your therapist adjusts. See the full head spa menu.

What the hour is like

The 75 minutes, step by step.

The reading first. The Tricho-Analyzer shows your scalp at magnification: oil at the root, clogged follicles, buildup, flaking. Your therapist chooses the products for exactly that, and you see the screen too.

Purify, not strip. The instinct with an oily scalp is to scrub it harder and wash it more, which usually makes it produce more oil. The ritual goes the other way: a micro-exfoliant to lift buildup, a purifying cleanse, water halo therapy to rinse the follicles clean, a rebalancing mask, and a light conditioning finish that does not weigh the roots down.

The massage does real work here. The purifying scalp massage is what moves buildup out of the follicles, and it runs alongside the cranial, neck, shoulder, hand and arm work every full ritual includes while the mask sits.

The reading again, then a rough dry. Before and after, side by side. You leave rough-dried to 60–80% with roots that feel clean in a way a normal shampoo does not reach.

Being honest about it

Whether it is right for you.

Dandruff is not one thing. Waxy, yellowish flakes with greasy roots point to an oily scalp — this ritual. Fine, dry, powdery flakes with a tight scalp point to a dry one — the Nourishing Dry Scalp. The camera settles it, and the products switch, same hour, same price.

Sore, red or under treatment? If your scalp is inflamed or a doctor is treating it, the Soothing Sensitive Scalp ritual uses an ultra-gentle approach instead. Tell us at booking and we will route you to the right one.

Expect a rhythm, not a miracle. One session leaves the scalp noticeably cleaner and the roots lighter. Oil production rebalances over time, and we will tell you honestly what the camera shows rather than sell you a package — we do not sell packages. We may suggest booking a follow up session 4-6 weeks later for maintenance and continuing progress towards a healthy scalp.

We are not making medical claims. A head spa is scalp care, not treatment, and your therapist is not diagnosing anything. If a scalp problem is new, painful, spreading or not improving, see a dermatologist first — and tell us at intake either way, so we work gently around it.

Cancellations. Twenty-four hours’ notice is required. Cancellations under 24 hours are 50% of service cost; no-shows, arrivals 15+ minutes late, or cancellations under 4 hours are 100%. All bookings require a card on file — no deposits. Phone call or text to (727) 218-7045 are the only valid ways to cancel or reschedule. All sales are final.

Oily Scalp & Dandruff · Common Questions

Oily scalp FAQ.

Do you have a head spa for dandruff and an oily scalp in St. Petersburg?

Yes. The Rebalancing Oily Scalp ritual at The Bronze Lily, 2851 1st Avenue N in Historic Kenwood, is a 75-minute Japanese head spa ($145) for excess oil, buildup and the waxy flaking that comes with it — Tricho-Analyzer reading before and after, purifying massage, products that help regulate oil, water halo therapy, in a private suite. Open seven days, 7 AM to 11 PM, by appointment.

How much is the oily scalp head spa?

$145 for 75 minutes, including the scalp reading before and after, all products, the water halo rinse, the full scalp, neck, shoulder, hand and arm massage, and a rough dry. Single sessions only — no packages — and a card on file holds the appointment with no deposit.

Is dandruff from a dry scalp or an oily one?

Either, and the two look different. Dry-scalp flakes are small, white and powdery with a tight feeling; oily-scalp flakes are larger, waxy or yellowish with greasy roots a day after washing. The Tricho-Analyzer shows which you have in the first five minutes, and your therapist chooses products accordingly — booking the “wrong” ritual costs you nothing.

Should I wash my hair before an oily scalp head spa?

Come as you are. Washed or two days unwashed both work, and the reading is actually more useful when the scalp is in its normal state. Skip heavy dry shampoo that day if you can, so the camera sees the scalp rather than the powder.

Will this stop my scalp being oily?

One session leaves the roots clean and the scalp noticeably lighter, and you see the before and after on the screen. Oil production rebalances over time rather than in one visit, so a scalp that has been oily for years usually does best on a rhythm. We do not make medical claims and we do not sell packages.

Can I add a facial or a blowout?

Yes. A 6-step facial in the same suite ($70), the Custom Herbal Scalp Tea Rinse from the Root Room ($25, complimentary on the Tuesday Reset), a Botanical Blowout with Adriana ($70) or a professional braid ($10). Ask when you book.

Is it okay for men?

Very much so — an oily scalp and buildup is one of the most common reasons men book here. See the men’s head spa page, including the Full Beard Treatment add-on.
