Head Spa for a Sensitive Scalp — The Bronze Lily, St. Petersburg, FL

Sensitive Scalp · St. Petersburg, FL

A head spa for the sensitive, reactive scalp.

Stings with most shampoos. Reddens easily. Has had enough done to it already.

The Soothing Sensitive Scalp head spa is 75 minutes built for a scalp that reacts: an ultra-gentle, calming approach with soothing botanicals, a feather-light massage, a soothing mask, and a Tricho-Analyzer reading before and after so nothing is guessed — in a private suite. $145 · 75 minutes, seven days a week, 7 AM to 11 PM. Scalp care, not treatment; we never claim otherwise.

The short answer

A sensitive scalp, in plain terms.

A sensitive scalp is one that reacts — it stings with ordinary shampoos, reddens, feels tight or sore, or has been through a lot: colour, chemical services, a stretch of harsh products, or a skin condition a doctor is already looking after. The Soothing Sensitive Scalp ritual at The Bronze Lily is the 75-minute, $145 Japanese head spa for that scalp. Everything is dialled down: calming botanical products chosen for reactive skin, water halo therapy at a comfortable temperature, a feather-light scalp massage rather than a deep one, and a soothing mask — with a magnified Tricho-Analyzer reading first and again at the end so you and your therapist see exactly what the scalp looks like. The neck, shoulder, hand and arm massage every full ritual includes is still there; it is only the scalp that is handled with extra care.

Flaking and tightness without reactivity point to the dry scalp ritual; greasy roots and waxy flakes to the oily scalp one. Not sure? Book any of the three; the camera settles it and your therapist adjusts. See the full head spa menu.

What the hour is like

What the 75 minutes actually includes.

The reading, and a conversation. The Tricho-Analyzer shows the scalp up close — redness, irritation, dryness, anything that has been over-processed — and your therapist asks what sets it off. Products are chosen for what she sees and what you tell her, not from a default list.

Gentle versions of every step. The same five-step backbone as every full ritual here — a micro-exfoliant, cleanse, water halo therapy, mask, conditioning finish — with each product swapped for its calming, reactive-skin version and nothing left on longer than it should be.

Feather-light hands. The scalp massage is slow and light by design. The cranial pressure points, neck, shoulders, hands and arms get the full treatment while the soothing mask sits, so you still get the hour of rest people come for.

The reading again. Before and after, on the screen. Then a rough dry to 60–80%, a tea, and a scalp that feels calmer than it has in a while.

Being honest about it

Whether it is right for you.

If a doctor is treating your scalp, tell us at booking and bring what they have said. We will work around it and go gentler still, or tell you honestly if a head spa is not the right idea that week. We do not treat psoriasis, dermatitis or any condition — the ritual is designed to be gentle on skin that has them, which is a different claim.

If your scalp is broken, bleeding or acutely inflamed, we will ask you to wait until it has settled. Water, product and massage on open skin is not care.

Tell us about colour and chemical services. A scalp a week out from bleach or a relaxer is sensitive for a reason. We can still do the ritual, but timing it well is part of doing it well.

We are not making medical claims. A head spa is scalp care, not treatment, and your therapist is not diagnosing anything. If a scalp problem is new, painful, spreading or not improving, see a dermatologist first — and tell us at intake either way, so we work gently around it.

Cancellations. Twenty-four hours’ notice is required. Cancellations under 24 hours are 50% of service cost; no-shows, arrivals 15+ minutes late, or cancellations under 4 hours are 100%. All bookings require a card on file — no deposits. Phone call or text to (727) 218-7045 are the only valid ways to cancel or reschedule. All sales are final.

Sensitive Scalp · Common Questions

Sensitive scalp FAQ.

Do you have a head spa for a sensitive scalp in St. Petersburg?

Yes. The Soothing Sensitive Scalp ritual at The Bronze Lily, 2851 1st Avenue N in Historic Kenwood, is a 75-minute Japanese head spa ($145) for a reactive, irritated or easily-stung scalp — calming botanical products, a feather-light massage, a Tricho-Analyzer reading before and after, in a private suite. Open seven days, 7 AM to 11 PM. Scalp care, not medical treatment.

How much is the sensitive scalp head spa?

$145 for 75 minutes, including the scalp reading before and after, all products, the water halo rinse, the scalp, neck, shoulder, hand and arm massage, and a rough dry. Single sessions only; a card on file holds the appointment with no deposit.

I have psoriasis or dermatitis. Can I still get a head spa?

Often, yes — this ritual is designed to be gentle on skin that has them. We do not treat the condition, and if a doctor is caring for your scalp, tell us at booking and bring what they have said. If the scalp is broken or acutely inflamed, we will ask you to wait until it has settled. We never make medical claims.

What makes it different from the regular head spa?

Every product is swapped for its calming, reactive-skin version, the water is kept at a comfortable temperature, and the scalp massage is feather-light instead of deep. The rest of the ritual — the reading, the mask, the neck and shoulder work — is the same.

My scalp stings with most shampoos. Will the products sting?

They are chosen specifically not to, and your therapist watches the scalp on the camera first. Tell her what has stung before; if anything feels off during the ritual, say so and it comes off immediately.

Should I come in after colouring or a chemical service?

Give it a little time and tell us when you book. A scalp a week out from bleach or a relaxer is sensitive for a reason, and timing the ritual well is part of doing it well.

Is it dry scalp, oily scalp or sensitive scalp?

Tight and powdery flaking points to dry; greasy roots and waxy flakes to oily; stinging, redness and reactivity to sensitive. Book any of the three — the Tricho-Analyzer settles it in the first five minutes and your therapist adjusts the products, same price, same hour.
